BEES UNITED was formed with the co-operation of several supporters groups at Brentford Football Club and the backing of Supporters Direct, the Government funded body set up specifically to help supporters form trusts at their football clubs.

The main aims and objectives of BEES UNITED are to raise funds for investment, and to gain at least one place on the board of directors of Brentford FC. Equally important is the declared aim of bringing the football club and the community closer together as this benefits everyone. A football club's community typically extends well beyond the boundaries of the town or city in which it is situated and Brentford is no different, drawing its support from a wide area of West Middlesex, North Surrey and parts of Berks & Bucks.

Brentford itself is situated mainly in the Borough of Hounslow which has borders with the Boroughs of Ealing, Hillingdon, Richmond and Spelthorne all of which contain large towns such as Southall, Uxbridge, Twickenham and Staines. Each of these boroughs are named in the BEES UNITED Constitution as the Area in which the club operates. It should also be noted that a small part of Brentford is administered by the Borough of Ealing. To the east of Hounslow borough, towards Central London, lies the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, an area from which Brentford draws very little support, mainly because it is home to three other professional football clubs; Chelsea, Fulham and QPR.

A local councillor has been appointed to serve on the Society Board to represent all of the surrounding boroughs from which Brentford draw their support. In addition the Chamber of Commerce is also represented and it is hoped that these appointments will serve to reinforce the declared intention of the Society to fully involve the community in the activities and initiatives being considered for the future.
