Brentford title hopes came to an end on Sunday when Sport London E Benfica earned the point they needed at Bedfont Sports to be crowned Champions.
Brentford were far the better side, restricting Benfica who are a good Footballing side to hoof ball.
The Bees literally threw everything they had at Benfica who struggled to get into our half and when they did were superbly marshaled by our excellent defence but Benfica defended with a real purpose and we were just unlucky not to get the solitary goal we needed to keep our title hopes alive.

The Bees made their Wheatsheaf Park debut this month and won two nil with an under par performance. A Chloe Logie opener with just three minutes on the clock failed to open the floodgates and we had to wait until deep into extra time to witness Kirsty Matthews wonder goal from distance when she lobbed the keeper with a shot from distance which dipped right at the very last moment.

An excellent away following of around 120 travelled across the city, to the Old Spotted Dog to witness this pulsating draw.
The atmosphere at this ground is amazing and the home fans aided by a drum set make a right racket, constantly singing for the whole game.
Hackney 1 Brentford 3 / Hackey Reserves 0 Brentford 2
The excellent away support of 80 at Hackney was divided between the two games.
Brentford first team gained a brilliant win to keep their promotion hopes alive against a very physical Hackney side.
At the Final whistle, the B Team game was still in progress, so the first team players joined the fans and walked around to the other pitch to witness our B team being crowned League Champions.

The Bees back by a post Gtech away following of 80 fans stormed to an impressive 3-0 away win
It was great to see families who had watched the Bees 6-1 against Ashmount Leigh in attendance and proudly waving their Bees flags.
Looking Forward – Cup Final day
There is still a a ‘Double’ to look forward to this season and our Women have a chance to bounce back this Sunday, 28th April, when they visit the Meadowbank Stadium, the home of Dorking Wanderers to play Leatherhead in the Capital Cup Final. Kick off is at 3pm
Clapton Community and their nosy entourage are the visitors to Bedfont Sports on 5th May for our final league game of the season which finishes, again, back at the Meadowbank Stadium, May 19th, when we play AFC Whyteleafe in the League Trophy Final.
