Bees United is the custodian of the entire BFC archive

We have been tidying, protecting, repairing (at considerable cost) we are now cataloging and for sure still collecting – so we’re always asking for donations – please!

Over the recent months we have been delighted to tell you when we have been given different things, and it’s beeen great, so here is a summary!

Donna in Ickenham (Donna has a red car and her little boy’s school uniform is, red!), lots of books and programmes
Alan Bird – so many amazing books sourced by Paul Briers. Alan is a former BU Board member and BFC Board director 2007 to 2012 – READ ABOUT ALAN
The family of Dennis Osborne, Louis and Rob – over 10 books and lots of England and international programmes
Ken Spanner – The Freight Rover final – an Elton John autographed programme
Roger Blay, lots of programmes, booklets and books from down near Horsham.
Len Bunning decd., (thank you to Frank Saw and Paul Taylor) an amazing huge collection of programmes spanning 7 decades
Ralph Tebby, Ralph most kindly responded to our Newsletter request for donations and presented a copy of Silk Scarves annd Chomp Bars!  READ ABOUT RALPH!

Jack Badger Decd.(Belatedly) from Chris Lincoln.

Some very early 1930’s programmes and the The “BEES” Sketch Book – 1936/37, by Laurence East and some other rarities.

Jack was a Bees supporter till the early 1950’s when his life took him to the coast  in Bournemouth and he became a loyal Cherry, amongst other things, running a paper shop.

Chris was his paper boy and kept this small collection all those years.

Carl Smith decided to reply to our Newsletter request and actually bought for the BU collection, ‘OOH-AAH The Bob Booker story’ (Greville!) and ‘Buzzing: The Story of Brentford’s First Premier League Season’

And as we have mentioned Greville, just recently we took a call from Mr Waterman who is elsewhere previewing the season in this Newsletter!!

Greville wanted to donate part of his collection to BU which included over 100 programmes from the 1950’s.

He kindly added some books, including some of his own publications, which he autographed and a lovely certified, signed print, ‘The Bees at Home’ by Pascal Farnell.

Greville also presented to BU a complete set of original autographs form our 1934/35 team!

Under Harry Curtis of course this was the season when the Bees won the second division and were promoted to division one.

This set of autographs was a gift from a father to his daughter.

On the back of the autographs is the gift wording to the daughter

We would all recognise this dates from a very different age nowadays.

It has wonderful sincerity and affection.

What an amazing season – we will be displaying this end of season programme soon we hope!

More donations promised!

Linda has an original BFC member held share certificate so we are expecting to say thank you at the Southampton match!
Stephen Dale has offered to donate his copy of, ‘The Brentford Revolution’ and a number of other bits and pieces (we don’t know yet!).
Mark Saggers has some real oldies including the other Laurence East sketch book,  Brentford FC 1946-7 Sketches and is digging around for some other items!
Paul Briers – some original items on Patsy Hedren, are en route soon!

More donations please!

In the current Newsletter we are trying hard to complete a full library of Brentford books and then Brentford fans publications! We hope to build a full collection of Thorne in the Side – can you help us?

Here are this month’s donations requests for our Bees library – it is nearly complete!
