Yesterday evening (Thursday 17 February) ten of the fourteen members of the Bees United (BU) board met to discuss what steps the Brentford Football Club (BFC) board should take to begin the essential task of restoring the confidence of supporters following the FA Cup ticket fiasco.

We have made initial recommendations to the BFC board and now await the outcome of their inquiry into this debacle. The BU board will meet again next week to consider the actions taken by the BFC board and to make further recommendations if necessary.

The BU board would like to express publicly its thanks to the front-line staff at the football club for the way they have coped with an extremely difficult situation this week. They have been faced with very angry and frustrated customers and placed in an impossible situation. Their hard work and dedication in such trying circumstances is appreciated.

For the next twenty four hours the most important priority is to support and encourage the team to get a good result on the pitch at Southampton.

We wish the team well and urge all supporters to get behind the players.

Brian Burgess
Chair, Bees United
