Welcome to what I hope will be the first of many regular updates on the fundraising initiatives that are being put in place for BU and many thanks to all who voted for me.
Thanks must also be extended to those of you who attended the reformation of the Fundraising Meetings. These will continue to be a regular event and the date of the next meeting will be announced shortly. In summary the first Fundraising meeting focused mainly on strategies, how best to involve the local community and engage effectively with the numerous groups of BFC groups including, BIAS, BFC, CST members of the GPG, BAMB and the fanzines, Beesotted and Thorne in the Side. There were also a couple of excellent ideas put forward, in terms of raising hard cash (I hope).
As part of my regular communication on fundraising I intend to publish a condensed version of the fundraising strategy that has been put together along with more detailed notes on individual ideas and events. I also hope to start a fundraising diary of events which will be updated on an ‘as and when’ basis.
I have been very encouraged by the number of fans who have contacted me with ideas, the responsibility lies with me to respond, communicate and make decisions on the ideas submitted. I hope that this continues and welcome any ideas whatever the size or complexity. Even if you think your idea may not be the best please please still send me it, it could be the catalyst for the next major event!
Talking of events, many thanks to Nick and Richard Hester for organising what looks like an excellent evening of Football Quiz, with Auction items, raffle, bingo etc. I only wish I could make it!! This will take place in The Hive on 9th November and is a complete sell out.
Don’t forget you are still able to Sponsor a Striker for the coming season. The prize up for grabs is a Season Ticket for Season 07/08.
Other ongoing initiatives that can be supported are ‘Spare change for Brentford’.
Tins are available from the shop and full tins can be either dropped off to any one of the bucket collectors or indeed back at the shop. Talking of buckets, collectors are still in evidence at every home game, although we could do with some more volunteers, particularly on the Braemar Road side of the ground.
If you can help please email me at natasha.judge@beesunited.org.uk.
Lastly if you would like to make one off general donations there is a facility available to do so at www.justgiving.com/beesunited
Many many thanks for all your contributions anyone who has any queries or suggestions please contact me. A more in-depth report will be produced over the next week or two.
