To encourage everyone to raise funds towards the £ 1million appeal we are organising a BACK THE BEES WEEK. This will be a designated week to focus the fundraising effort and will run from 3 to 10 September 2005, culminating in the home game against MK Dons.

Bees United is planning a number of fundraising events for the week, some of which will be held at the MK Dons game. We are however also looking to you to raise money through your family, friends, neighbours and school, college or work mates. Write and tell us what you are doing to raise money and we will put your name in our Back the Bees Week roll of honour in the MK Dons match programme. If you bring the money you raised with you (preferably as a cheque!), you can present it to the Bees United Chairman on the pitch at half-time! Please let us know before hand and we will make the arrangements with you.

To help your fundraising efforts we have a sponsorship form that you can download here (for Microsoft Word version) or click here (for a PDF). Our bucket collectors will also have blank forms at the Gillingham home game on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Here are a few sponsorship ideas: A sponsored; walk, run, bike ride, bounce, silence, diet, quit smoking, head shave or even sit in a bath of baked beans! I'm sure you can think of others.

Here are some other things you can do to help toward the target:

  • Ask family, friends and workmates to text 'bees' to 83338 on their mobile phone as often as they can (calls cost £ 1.50)!
  • If you are not a Bees United member join and also take out monthly standing order. For £ 300 you could take out life membership of Bees United.
  • Take out £ 1,000 loan note and enter the draw to become an Associate Director (for more information click here). Send a donation by cheque to Bees United care of Brentford Football Club and mark the back of the cheque "£ 1M Appeal".
  • Support one of our existing fundraising schemes like; our spare change tins (available from the Club Shop), join Bees United Utilities, buy Bees United merchandise, bring your old printer cartridges or mobile phones to our recycling scheme at Griffin Park, sponsor a striker, join our Investment Club or attend one of our music nights in Stripes.
  • Donate cash in one of our collecting at one of Brentford FC's home games.

If you cannot afford donate money why not donate some of your time to the campaign?

For more information you can call Bruce Powell on 0845 166 7222.
