We met with EcoWorld recently so here’s the update on the redevelopment of Griffin Park now the planning application is live.
The Planning application
As you may be aware, EcoWorld propose to deliver 149 new homes at Griffin Park, honouring the local heritage with a new 1,770 sqm community park.
They submitted a planning application to Hounslow Council in November 2024 and are waiting for a Planning Committee date.
30 discount market sale (DMS) homes are included in the proposals and EcoWorld are currently asking the community to express their interest. DMS is a low-cost home ownership product where a new build property is purchased at a discounted price to the open market value, helping people get on the property ladder. DMS, applicants must live or work in Hounslow and be first time buyers.
Incorporating Fans’ Views
EcoWorld London did engage with the community and fans to ensure that the site honours its legacy. The central area of the development will now include a community park, as a space for reflection and remembrance. The park will be open to the public, allowing fans to visit and reminisce about the site’s past
The area, provisionally named “The Hive,” will feature reflection benches and information boards celebrating BFC’s history. The landscaping will also include features from the old stadium which will help to further enhance the connection to its football heritage.
Moving Forward
Subject to receiving planning permission from the Council, EcoWorld intends to start the site preparation stage by the end of 2025, including new designs to the hoarding and site boundary works. Updates will be provided as progress is made, ensuring the community remain up to speed, and you can sign up for direct updates from EcoWorld via their website: griffin-park.co.uk
For those interested in viewing the planning application, it can be accessed through the London Borough of Hounslow’s planning portal using the application number P/2024/3503.
